I visit your website every now and again for new photos from Tehran. I really appreciate the amount of time and effort that is put into this website and I would like to thank you for keeping it up and running. I’m 28 years old and I’m working in an architectural practice in Manchester since 3 years ago that I left Tehran. These photos bring back all the happy memories I had with friends and family.

Iran is more than a "Vatan", it's a place where you can feel the human spirit, the caring people, the true sense of laughter when you meet and talk to a total stranger, as there are no "strangers" in Iran, just brothers and sisters that live in a life much harder than where most of us live away from Iran, yet, they always manage to smile and have their hearts filled with joys and enjoy



I would like to say that for those of us who don't live in iran anymore and are unable to visit as often as one would hope, these photos are a good imaginary vacation. I feel as if I'm there and I know what's happening back home on a weekly basis. They're lovely and I wish you would post them up as often as you can. possibly daily!

Hi just got back from Tehran after leaving there 25 years ago.
Must say I have never seen such a busy city, with so much people, and so much traffic.
I was shocked at the way some people live in Iran. To my eyes it seems that there is 2 sides of Iran. It is very much a divided lifestyle and culture.
Well this is a great website, I do check it from time to time.
Keep up the amazing work.
OH YEAH and if you are planning to visit TEHRAN, make sure you when you are walking,look all around you, cause you never know when the next car might take your legs out.

They have done a wonderful job constructing it and showing the world how beautiful it truly is out here despite all the horrible marginalized stories portrayed through the media. I've been a fan of Tehran24 for a couple of years. You guys have served as my window to Iran, especially Tehran. It is like opening the window and seeing the old neighborhood.

Lately, I've noticed that the amount of pictures for the non-member area is getting less and less, and less frequent - so are the updates. Your site used to post a lot more pictures before for the non-members, and quite frankly your membership is a bit steep. I'm afraid if you keep this up, you'll lose a lot of your already exisiting visitors, and that won't help your volume.

A good incentive is the best marketing tool. A couple of pictures here and there

I came upon this page by accident and I'm really surprised. It's a very good homepage and I even found two of my friends in one of the pictures from the contemporary art museum. Since I have left Iran, I’ve been looking for a page I can refer my friends to in order to see the real Tehran, the way I used to see it. Now I’ve found it. When I lived in Tehran, I lived on Golestan 8, off of Saltanatabad Ave. I hear Saltanatabad is called something else now. Does anyone know the new name?

Also, my friends and I spent a lot of time at a recreation center called the 'CRC'. It had a bowling alley, a movie theatre. a diner. Does anyone know if this place still exists, and know where it was located?

And how about the American High School. Does anyone recall where this was located? The street name then PLUS what it is called now?

I've been a great fan of your site since late 2001. It's the best thing since sliced bread for iranians who live out side of Iran, especially for those who've been away for quite sometime and want to witness the ever changing city of tehran evry once in a while.

I am an American that lived in Tehran in 1975-1978. I attended Lavizan Campus Tehran American School. I really enjoyed the people of Tehran and their country. I am saddened that our 2 countries have split so far apart that I may never be able to visit the city I once called home.

I lived on a street called IranShah and another street I can't recall the name of it but it was close to the American Embassy.

I hope oneday that I can come back to Tehran and visit the city once again and possibly bring my family over to see where I used to live.

I love this site, especially the photos of section. I mostly like the pics of people in downtown tehran because those pictures bring the city to life. After all, whats a city without people?! The best photo that I have chosen on my long trip by Tehran-Mashhad road at this cool site is the 136th photo. I have been near Kahak city, 115km far from Sabzevar city, just behind the little and brave peugeout and I was passing by an orange mercedes truck. All this alongside the big Kavir desert.

Small things make the history. Small histories captivate us. For us from Brazil, a brazilian engineer passing by Tehran in 2001 and showed on brazilian TV has been very rewarding. The difference was the vehicle, the engineer Roberto Faria was travelling around the world by bicycle. He stopped in downtown Tehran, checked a handy map of the city, entered in a bazaar from where he went out hugging a flag from that country, was observed by two Ayatollahs in an outdoor stuck up in a building, changed the bicycle´s tire surrounded by lovely curious people, was politely and religiously forbidden of greeting two Iranian teenagers by shaking hands

Hi, I am no homesick Iranian but a woman who is interested in your country, your culture, your history...literature, yes literature...and this due to many reasons. I lived in Tehran,Iran in 1975-1978 and loved it and the people.

I attended the Lavizan Amercian School Campus and have alot of wonderful memories.

I remember going up to the Dizin area in the mountains but never skied just road through.

I remember eating the Chella Kabobs at the American Embassy.

I always went to Gulf District where the Americans had a place to hang out and the CRC and the Ice Palace, man those were great times.

I hope our 2 countires can find some kind of peace so I can bring my family there someday and let them see where I lived as a teenager.

To watch American television, you would think that Iran was a very poor third world nation, and not the beautiful place with so much culture and history. For a long time i have been searching for pictures of my birthplace , My Country Iran which i miss and love so dearly , i miss the air and i miss everything that IRAN stands for , I'm a Proud Iranian/Armenian . who left for Australia at the age of 7 and i never got to say goodbye and all my good memories of IRAN are always by my side i hope one day i can come back and see you and remember my child hood which i left behind.

Azadi Tower is an icon of Tehran that we immediately realize from satellite´s eyes. It is because in satellite´s images in Google Earth software, version 4.0(free download), that monument do not pass disregarded. Imposing and sober, not very distant from a massive airport, there is it in the middle of a big square, remembering to the world the identity of a nation. If anyone want to know where we are, me and my daughter Monica, just type: “Patos de Minas, Brazil” in Google Earth. Greetings to all.
